Antagonist Vs. Protagonist

You will write details about six characters; three antagonists, three protagonists.

Begin with one character, a protagonist. Write down their name. Write their current desires and motivations in life. Write down their childhood/backstory. These are the most important pieces.

Now write down their physical description, physical quirks, personality flaws. This is secondary to the motivation and backstory. It’s the icing on the cake, and it’s still important.

Now write that character’s nemesis using the exact same process (desires, backstory, physical ing onionsand personality quirks, etc). Think about why and how they are blocking the protagonist from achieving their goal. Is it malicious? Accidental?

Repeat this with two other sets of characters.

NOTE: You do not have to use all or any of these characters for your video if you don’t want to. It is an exercise to get you thinking about character building. On the other hand, this may trigger some brilliant thought that leads to a wonderful video project. You won’t know unless you put your heart and head into it.

Robert Lube - Protagonist

Robert is a man in his mid-forties that works as a mechanic in the northern sector of Detroit. He barely graduated with a high school diploma and is just trying to get by. He was born and raised in Detroit, only to be raised by his mother. They ran off of welfare and government handouts for most of their lives. He wanted to escape the low life and try to sustain himself with enough money to pay bills and buy necessities. Robert is of two functioning mechanics in the auto-repair shop he works at. He still lives with his mother but is the one caring for her and paying the bills. His mother is a daredevil and manages to get in some dangerous situations. Robert watches over her and protects her, for she is all he has.

Franchesca Lube - Antagonist

She is the mother to Robert Lube and about 91 years old. Ever since she was a child she has had a taste for dangerous situations. The man she married and had Robert with left her because she wanted to shot baby Robert out of a cannon and into a factory that produces shards of glass when he was born. She never had a successful job and had to raise Robert in poverty. Franchesca is very lonely and doesn't know what to do with herself when he goes to work. She makes it her goal to do something very dangerous everyday because it really turns her on. She doesn't want Robert to worry about her, yet she manages to give him a near heart attack all the time. 

Manuel Ernest - Protagonist

Public enemy of his small town in Poland, Manuel is a man that has been in hiding for years and can't seem to find a way out of this mess. He is 23 years old and lost his job due to the town's opposition towards him. The only reason he is the public enemy is because he forgot to put on a shirt one day. Much of his family lives elsewhere, so he is on his own. He lives in the basement of a sealed up abandoned house. He tries not to get make personal contact with anyone considering he is shot-on-sight by military. He feels he needs to escape because he doesn't want to turn out to be a hermit when he grows up.

Jerry King The Mailman - Antagonist

Member of the city council and avid book enthusiast, Jerry is a 62 year old mailman. He is the man that has been doing the same route that Manuel lives on for years. Jerry is a perfectionist when is comes to delivering mail and is aggravated with the one house that has mail piling up on the front porch. The is vandalized and damaged but sealed up tight; all of the town knew Manuel lived there. Jerry made it his goal to break into that house to make sure he got all of his mail.

Jessica Blancade - Protagonist
A little 8 year old of a big family living out in Utah. She is somewhat of a middle child and has a hard time gaining attention. She wants to make it her goal to get noticed more so she starts to become very aggressive and destructive. Everyday, she manages to cause pain to someone in her family. Her parents still neglect to notice her and presume to mark her off as a number. She is convinced that she needs to be more extreme and decides to go large scale in her blunt attempts to get noticed.

Zicter Blancade - Antangonist
Zicter is the older brother of Jessica and has just turned 13 years old. He has noticed what Jessica is trying to do. He wants to destroy her permanently because she has taken it way to far man. He is home schooled and so is the rest of the family. He attempts to kill her daily with the use of large rocks, anvils, and dynamite. He is willing to do what it takes to protect his family from the evil residing in Jessica.
